Michael’s Optical was founded in 1979 by the same family that runs it now. We take pride providing the best eyewear for your needs. Our first location was opened on Entrada in Atascadero with Michael and Kathy Nutt owning and running that single location, soon after opening a finishing lab to ensure faster service for patients. In 1980 our San Luis Obispo location opened on Chorro Street and in 1984. Atascadero is now managed by Michael’s niece Kristy and San Luis Obispo by Michael’s brother Steve. Our finishing laboratory is run by Michael’s niece Tonya. Each of our managers are licensed by the Medical Board of California and all of our opticians gained their credentials from the American Board of Opticianary. No matter who you work with at Michael’s Optical you can be assured that you will receive professional level quality and care.
